Fried shrimp dumplings are a delicious and popular dish that can be enjoyed as a snack or appetizer. Here's a recipe to make them:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb. raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup scallions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 1 package dumpling wrappers
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- In a food processor, pulse the shrimp until coarsely chopped.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, scallions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Mix well.
- Place a heaping teaspoon of the shrimp mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
- Dip your finger in water and run it along the edge of the wrapper to moisten it.
- Fold the wrapper in half to encase the filling, pressing the edges together to seal.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom of the skillet.
- Once the oil is hot, place the dumplings in the skillet in a single layer.
- Fry the dumplings for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the dumplings from the skillet and drain on a paper towel.
- Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
