Fried Shrimp Dumplings

Fried shrimp dumplings are a delicious and popular dish that can be enjoyed as a snack or appetizer. Here's a recipe to make them:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb. raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup scallions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1 package dumpling wrappers
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, pulse the shrimp until coarsely chopped.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, scallions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Mix well.
  3. Place a heaping teaspoon of the shrimp mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
  4. Dip your finger in water and run it along the edge of the wrapper to moisten it.
  5. Fold the wrapper in half to encase the filling, pressing the edges together to seal.
  6. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom of the skillet.
  7. Once the oil is hot, place the dumplings in the skillet in a single layer.
  8. Fry the dumplings for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Use a slotted spoon to remove the dumplings from the skillet and drain on a paper towel.
  10. Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
